About target-size PDF compression
Target size is approximate because every PDF contains a different mix of text, scans, photos and graphics. Strong compression rebuilds selected pages from rendered images, which can reduce scanned PDFs substantially but may flatten selectable text, hyperlinks, form fields and vector graphics.
When to use this tool
It is useful when an application portal, email or document upload has a file-size limit such as 200 KB, 500 KB or 1 MB. If the result is larger than the original, keep your original file.
